Online gambling works differently in Poland than in most of the European Union. Since December 2018 an online casino may be operated only by the state: the monopoly is exercised by Totalizator Sportowy under the Total Casino brand. How we rate casinos

1. Legal status. Whether there is an MF licence, which jurisdiction issued the permit, and whether the domain appears in the Ministry of Finance register. This comes first and no bonus can compensate for it.
2. Payments that work in Poland. A balance held in Polish zloty without conversion, BLIK, fast bank transfer, cards. No PLN balance means a bank conversion fee on every deposit and every withdrawal.
3. Withdrawals. The declared processing time, daily and monthly limits, and the moment the operator asks for identity verification.
4. Bonus terms. Wagering multiplier, maximum stake while wagering, expiry date, excluded games. A large amount at 50x wagering is worse than a small one at 20x.
5. Transparency and support. A readable terms document, live chat in a language you actually speak, and disclosed company details.

The legal picture in short

The basis is the Gambling Act of 19 November 2009. The amendment in force since 1 April 2017 confirmed that online casino games fall under the state monopoly; outside that monopoly, only licensed sports betting operators and lotteries may work online. • Article 29 — advertising and promotion of casino games is prohibited. That is why sites like ours publish reviews and comparisons rather than sales offers.
• Article 15f — the Register of Domains Used to Offer Gambling Games Contrary to the Act, kept by the Minister of Finance. Internet providers block listed domains at DNS level and payment providers must stop settling transactions with them, often overnight and without warning.
• Article 107 of the Fiscal Penal Code — taking part in foreign gambling is punishable by a fine. Enforcement focuses on operators, but the risk on the player’s side formally exists.

BLIK and paying in zloty

For anyone living in Poland the decisive question is whether the casino keeps your balance in PLN and whether it accepts BLIK. BLIK is the Polish mobile payment standard: your banking app generates a six-digit code, you paste it at checkout and confirm with your PIN — no card details involved. Almost every Polish bank account includes it. Without a PLN balance you pay a conversion margin twice, on the way in and on the way out.
